Every Indian dish uses turmeric as a major spice ingredient mostly as a coloring agent and sometimes as a flavor inducing product. We rarely think of the medicinal properties it holds.
It is in fact a powerful antioxidant and it has anti- inflammatory properties. It puts a hold on brain related disorders, lowers the risk of heart disease and boosts body's own anti-oxidants. Curcumin is an active ingredient in Turmeric which adds to the medicinal value.
