Arc welding rod, and welding rods provide their protective gear when they are heated to
create the necessary conditions for fitting the weld bead and protecting the porosity, weld
contamination, and other adverse conditions.
Tig and Solid wire both use a stainless steel filler (such as gold of a size or jewelry worth) or
a stainless / aluminum feed grade. Both processes deal with pure filler material so the argon
/ co2 outer gas needs to be provided to provide the necessary conditions to support an
adequate arc weld.
